Scars are a problem for all of us. Any injury, inflammation or wound causes scars. Scars are for a lifetime, except a few that fade away over years.

Unfortunately, keloid scars can NOT be treated with fractional laser treatments. Keloids are raised scars. They form in response to an injury. When the body suffers an injury, it rushes its defense molecules, including white cells, to heal itself. The scars form as the skin heals. In most people the skin heals with an indent. In some, the body pushes more collagen than normal to the site of injury and a hard mass forms that is called a Keloid scar.

Revage Medical Spa does not treat Keloid scars as it proves to be difficult. If new resurfacing is performed to remove the Keloid, more of them will replace the original one. Some doctors treat Keloids by injecting them with a steoid solution. These injections slowly dry out the Keloid.

Revage Medical Spa only treats scars that are indented in the skin using fractional laser treatments. It usually takes about three treatments to see optimal results.
